Monday Meditations – Luke 6:27-28

December 5, 2011

Today’s Meditation Verse:

Luke 6:27-28

27 “But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.

The past month has had some challenges for me and they all involved people.  In two instances someone I loved was being horribly mistreated and it infuriated me.  In two other instances I was done horribly wrong.

Monday Meditations – Ephesians 1:17-18

November 28, 2011

Today’s Meditation Verse:

Ephesians 1:17-18
17)that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. 18)I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,

This entire passage from Ephesians 1:15-23 is amazing!  But for today since this is Meditation Monday I wanted to pick out a verse or two to meditate on for the week.

Being Persuaded by God

 November 25, 2011

On Wednesday I talked about the word disobedient and how that word means ‘unpersuaded’ and ties in closely with the word ‘repent’ which means to change your mind.

I’ve seen for years people rooted and grounded in a belief that they would refuse to give up on or even listen to or consider another thought.  They read their bible’s with that close minded attitude and what they read is colored by that ideology.  They read as a lawyer looks for presidents to back up his case not to find the truth behind the law.

Today’s Meditation Verse

Colossians 3:16-17

16 Let the teaching concerning Christ remain as a rich treasure in your hearts. In all wisdom teach and admonish one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, and sing with grace in your hearts to God. 17 And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, and let it be through Him that you give thanks to God the Father.

 Saved

Transliteration: sózó
Phonetic Spelling: (sode’-zo)
Short Definition: I save, heal

I’ve studied this one word for almost 30 years now.  I know – amazing isn’t it, that I would/could study one word for so long.  But that is just how deep I have found this one word to be.  I am still learning and God is still revealing to me the depth of this wonderful word.

November 14, 2011

Today’s Meditation Verse:

John 3:17

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Today I’ve chosen a very well known verse for our Monday Meditations verse.  But just because it is so well known doesn’t mean we have received full revelation of its meaning. Continue reading
