Futility
Strongs Concordance Number:3153
Transliteration: mataiotés
Phonetic Spelling: (mat-ah-yot’-ace)
Definition: vanity, emptiness, unreality, purposelessness, ineffectiveness, instability, frailty; false religion. Aimlessness due to lacking purpose or any meaningful end.
On Monday we talked about the scripture Romans 8:19 and how all of creation is waiting eagerly for the sons of God to be revealed. This holding pattern that we are all placed in until that time is described by the author with the word futility. All of creation is in a futile (unreal, purposeless, ineffective, fragile) period of time waiting on the sons of God to be revealed.
When we read the definition above we can see that…
The trees in the forest are experiencing aimlessness due to lacking purpose or any meaningful end.
The clouds in the sky are experiencing aimlessness due to lacking purpose or any meaningful end.
The cats and puppies and birds are experiencing aimlessness due to lacking purpose or any meaningful end.
So once again our perception of life as we now it is not really life at all, but an intermittent period between the way God created creation to be and how it will be again. It is as if life, true life was suspended in time, in a period of unreality, waiting. It is waiting aimlessly with ineffectiveness, instability and frailty for the sons of God to be revealed.
It is scriptures like these that force us to expand our minds from beyond what we can see with our own eyes and ears to what is beyond, in the spirit realm, to what life not only was truly meant to be, but will be once again.
