Monday Meditations – Matthew 13:30

October 17, 2011

Today’s Meditation Verse

Matthew 13:30

Allow both to grow together until the harvest; and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather up the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them up; but gather the wheat into my barn.

Justice is something we all want and seek.  But many times we are left wondering why doesn’t God do something sooner?  Why does He wait to deal with those who are in the enemy’s camp?  Why does He allow them to kill, steal and destroy?  Because there is a divine appointed time to administer justice.

We may not understand, we may not see why, but this is yet another area to just trust in God.

In this parable when the wheat is planted and the tares on sown, they grow together side by side.  If a tare were to be pulled out, the roots of the tare would also uproot the wheat.  So to do what is ultimately best for the wheat, the tares MUST be left until the end of the harvest when it is ok for the wheat to also be uprooted.

So, when we see injustice and wrongdoing, let us trust and pray and patiently wait.  There will come a time for the sons of God to be revealed and at that time, justice will also be done.
