Phonetic Spelling:
(ap-i-thace’)
Short Definition:
unbelieving, disobedient
Definition: unbelieving, disobedient, who will not be persuaded.

 

Colossians 3:5-7

5 ) So put to death your worldly impulses: sexual sin, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed (which is idolatry). 6 ) It is because of these things that the wrath of God is coming on those who are disobedient. 7 ) You used to behave like them as you lived among them. 8 ) But now you must also get rid of anger, wrath, malice, slander, obscene speech, and all such sins.

The Rules That Break Fellowship

1 John 1:7 Amplified Bible (AMP)

7But if we [really] are living and walking in the Light, as He [Himself] is in the Light, we have [true, unbroken] fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses (removes) us from all sin and guilt [keeps us cleansed from sin in all its forms and manifestations].

 

I grew up in a denominational church that taught us that we were constantly in and out of fellowship with Christ.  I am sure they used the scripture above as their basis for fact.

 

We would do something that we thought was sin and then we were told we were out of fellowship with God and to repair that we would have to repent and get “right” with God and then our fellowship would be restored.

 

But from everything I’ve been studying in depth over the past few years I have found that theology to be incorrect.

Go and Sin No More
